First of all I would like to tell you that buying a genuine vista is really worth any trick, tweak or Crack. The best way to get the best of windows vista is to buy an original copy of it. Like wise some of us want to try new operating systems before we get too friendly with it and at last want to buy it. There are some simple things which we can do to overcome the activation of windows vista. You can find n numbers of hacks, timer cracks and software to by pass activation process on internet.Some of which are really prone to make your system doped with virus. Now the trick I want to share is already built in windows vista, and also I’ll tell you what you can do if your vista’s activation days over.
The trick or the feature you can say is Vista Rearm Feature, It lets you to use vista for 120 days, as a complete feature packed product. The Rearm feature is not any crack etc. it’s just the in built feature of vista.
Click start-programs-accessories-command prompt(CMD) and right click on cmd and click run as administrator.
Continue on windows need permission.
At the prompt C:\windows\system32> write C:\windows\system32>cscript /h:cscript
The default script host is now set to “cscipt.exe”
Now at prompt C:\windows\system32>slmgr and enter
Wait few seconds and you will see some details for software license manager
Also try slmgr -dli
And slmgr- xpr
Now to rearm your activation time use command
C:\windows\system32>slmgr –rearm
Reboot & test (1-8) steps.
Note that you should do this process at the day when your windows activation shows only 1 day left for activation i.e. at the end of 29th day, you can check your activation day’s status by right clicking My Computer and Properties at bottom you can see your status.
Another really easy concept, you can make this period go longer as well, if you are at last 30 days of your activation of 120 days. But yes this comes at a very small free price, simply change your clock timings. Example the current date and time of the system is 13th July 2008 and its 17:00hrs. what you will do is simply decrease the time i.e. make your time now 0:01hrs, you are increasing the days length for your computer, now after you log out and login again to your computer next time suppose after 12 hrs ,your computer will not show you your right date and time which actually should be something else but will show you with respect to the time you altered i.e. is 12pm on your system. What you have to do is simply reverse the time to 0:01 whenever you are shutting down, don’t bother about your date and time, thus you can use vista for longer time. This can be cumbersome to persons who log there computers rarely, as the activation status will still decrease if they didn’t reversed there time often.

Always do remember to uncheck your internet time synchronization, as it will reset your system time itself. If you are using multiple operating systems, like mine using Ubuntu, do uncheck synchronization of internet time there too.
If unknowingly your activation is out, you don’t have any days left and your system asks to register. First of all, for a safe side log your computer in safe mode using command prompt, you can achieve this by pressing function F8 key at booting, which will take you to a special screen and choose safe mode with command prompt.
Cmd will appear, if you’re not too familiar with cmd press ctrl+alt+dlt, and there start task manager.
At task manager go to file-new task (run) , here you can select the drive in which your valuable data is stored, example write in the run box the drive name D:\ and the drive D:\ opens up, if you have pen drive now you can transfer your data to pendrive from here.
The reason I am telling you this is as you are unable to logon your computer, you can transfer your data or if you want to format your computer and want that your data on safer side.
Also at task manager-file –new task(run) –regedit –continue
Now deviate yourself to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENT VERSION
Here you can see brief description about your windows version, product id etc.
On the install date right click and modify and change the values, to some what similar to the value already written there.
Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS NT\CURRENT VERSION\SL
At SkipRearm modify the value to 1.
Close all the windows and shut down your PC.
It requires now to have a windows vista installation DVD, switch on your PC and immediately put DVD in DVD rom drive ,a message appears “press continue to boot from cd or DVD” here press enter. Windows setup files will load in few seconds and a green bluish coloured screen appears.
Select your language and keyboard layout and click next
Here select Repair Windows Vista, and click start up repair, now windows will automatically search why you are not able to login.
Also at repair window click restore your computer.
Now your system will show you a restore point or check point when you were able to login completely or you installed something.
Choose the restore point and click next and next, let your system initialize the restoration and complete it.
Reboot or it will reboot itself.
Now try to log your system normally you do.
All this time wait for the system to react and be patient if it takes time.
